This Is The First Foldable Phone with IP Rating! Feat. Z Fold 3

Hey Everyone! If you know, Samsung has organized their Unpacked Event. In this event, they have launched some crazy Products. They have launched the next generation of their foldable smartphones, including Z Fold 3. So today we’ll talk about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Let’s start.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

This is the third-generation Foldable Smartphone from Samsung. It comes with some crazy tech. There are many features that are First In Industry for a foldable Smartphone, such as IP rating.

Specifications

Display

This has 2 Flagship Panels from Samsung. Z Fold 3 has got two displays, Main and Cover Display. Both of them are Dynamic Amoled 2X Panel from Samsung. Both come with a 120Hz fast refresh rate. Also, this time Samsung has added the Stylus Support for Z Flip 3. So now you can enjoy the S pen functionality with this phone.

• The main display size is 7.6” and the Cover display size is 6.2”.
• The main display gives a bezel less experience with Infinity Flex Display.
• And, The cover display is an Infinity O display.

Sound

• There’s a Stereo speaker setup. This is a decent speaker setup for entertainment. Also, there’s a separate speaker for each side, So that the secondary speaker will not be the earpiece.

Camera

Z Fold 3’s camera will be a Samsung Flagship Camera. It will be going to have some crazy features like Portrait Video, Single Take, Director’s View, etc. There will be 5 cameras in total on Z Fold 3. Out of these 5, a triple cam setup on the back, a single punch hole cam at the cover display(smaller display), and an Under Display Camera at its main Display.

All the cameras at the rear are 12MP sensors. There is an Ultrawide, Wide, and Telephoto Zoom lens. The FOV in Ultrawide is of 123°. This Phone can zoom up to 2x optically and up to 10x digitally. This smartphone has Dual OIS in the Main Camera(Wide) and also OIS in Telephoto Shooter. It can shoot up to 4K@60fps and 720p@960fps. Also, it has some cool features like Single Take, Director’s View, Portrait Video, AR Doodle, etc.

For the selfie, on the cover screen, we have a 10MP shooter which can shoot up to 4K@30fps. And, on the main screen, there’s a 16MP under-display camera. Yes, it’s an under-display camera. The under-display camera can’t have that much quality, but definitely, it is much better than we saw on some Chinese smartphones.

Performance

In terms of performance, there’s no compromise on Z Fold 3. You can play any game at its max settings. And you can do all the power needed stuff with this phone. It has got the most powerful Android SoC yet.

Many of you guessed it? Yes, you’re correct it is Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. This is the processor which is enough for any kind of work. You can play BGMI at 90Fps* in it and you can also play in Ultra HD graphics. Isn’t it amazing? Furthermore, this is based on a 5nm fabrication process, which is quite efficient.

OS

The OS is everyone’s personal preference, everyone has their own taste. But, you can try this OS as this comes in the top list of Android UIs.

The Z Fold 3 has OneUI 3.1 based on Android 11. This is a feature-rich and user-friendly UI. Also, the OneUI in this phone is customized specially for it. As this is designed that you can use it more easily. You will not be going to have any problems with navigation as earlier because of the big screen it is much hard to navigate in some areas.

Battery and Charging

The Z Fold 3 phone has a 4400mAh dual Battery (2200mAh each cell). This is not enough for a big display smartphone like this. The overall screen time will be decent according to its battery size. But the battery should have been bigger for a big smartphone like this.

It supports up to 25W of Wired charging with a 35W adapter(sold separately). Yes, no charger this time inside the box. Although, it has 10W of wireless charging and 4.5W of reverse wireless charging. The wireless charging used here is the Qi wireless charging technology.

Connectivity

The Z Fold 3 is a 5G smartphone with multiple 5G bands. Its US variant will also have mmWave 5G technology with super-fast 5G speeds. And the Indian variant will have only Sub6 5G.

There’s also the support of 4G 4×4 MIMO Carrier Aggregation. And, the maximum speeds supported here in 4G is up to 2Gbps Download/ 200Mbps Upload.

Z Fold 3 also has the latest generation of WiFi Technology. There’s support for WiFi 6E. So the Download and Upload speeds will be top-notch and blazing fast.

Bluetooth is also the latest version of Bluetooth 5.0. And all the other stuff like NFC and Samsung Pay, GPS, etc. supported here. Also, this phone supports Ultra Wide Band Technology-enabled devices(Conditions Applied). Last, not least it has eSIM functionality for one of the Dual SIMs.

Memory and Storage

There are two storage variants in Samsung Z Fold 3. Ram and storage both are the latest and the fastest options here. LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 STORAGE. Both variants have 12GB RAM and two different storage 256GB, 512GB. 256GB is more than enough for most of the users. But you still have a 512GB option if you need it.

Build

There’s a massive upgrade from the previous generation in terms of Build Quality. This time Z Fold 3 has these features extra-

• IPX8 rating for the first time ever in a foldable Smartphone. Now, no fear of water spilling on it.
• Gorilla Glass Victus at the cover display and back.
• 80% improvement in main display’s durability.
• 11g lighter than Z Fold 2.
• More slimmer when folded. The gap between the two half is reduced. 14.4mm thin after folding.
• More easy to hold in hand or the pockets.
• Better Hinge mechanism.

Extra Features

Z Fold 3 is Water Resistant’s first time ever in a foldable phone. This is now more durable and comes with a better hinge.

It also has Samsung Pay, in which you can add your Bank Cards for cashless and card-less payments. Samsung Pay saves the card for the payments, and it uses NFC to pay.

There are plenty of features for the camera. Features such as Single-Take, Portrait Video, HDR Video, etc. And also an under-display camera.

Stylus support is also available now in Z Fold 3. Supports S pen to perform some cool camera actions, signing documents, or making notes. The S-pen makes everything much easier.

Samsung Knox Security is also here. This is almost top-level security in an Android. This is Hardware-based security with also some AltZ features. Also, for unlocking the phone there’s a Side-mounted FP scanner and face recognition as well.

Pricing-

This time Z Fold 3 is much cheaper than the previous almost 20-30% cheaper than Z Fold 2. It is launched at ₹1.6lacs in India. At that price, most people will prefer iPhones till now. Let’s see how much will it affect the sales of the iPhone.

Should you consider buying it?

The answer is yes and no. Well, it totally depends on you. Because the same price can be paid for an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Most people will prefer the iPhone because of its practicality. It is much more practical, with much better cameras and Battery life and much better durability with much better resale value. So in this case the iPhone will be preferred more.

But, there are also some reasons which may get this phone to be sold like hotcakes. For example, it has a much better panel for display. It has got 120Hz fast refresh rate, a bigger display, Android’s freedom, Samsung Pay, cool foldable tech, etc. With this phone, you can flex in between your friends for its cool foldable tech and under-display camera. And at last, it is much cheaper than the previous gen.

In conclusion, we would say you can buy if you’re okay with the camera and build. Also, note that buying this phone means a lot of care. So don’t forget to use this phone with complete protection.
