We’ll be mentioning the latest plans and offers provided by Jio so that you can make up your mind about whether you actually want to buy Jio Fiber.

Why are they taking ₹2500?

The ₹2500 sum they ask at the time of installation is treated as a security deposit which the company keeps with them in exchange for all the instruments, they provide to the customers in the first month trial period. The offer is like, you get a 30-day free trial for which they take ₹2500 from their “might-be” future customers and if they do not like the services within the first month of usage can claim their refundable deposit of ₹2500 amount. And if the customer decides to continue with the services, then Jio will consider ₹1000 out of that ₹2500 as installation charges and the refundable deposit whenever the customer makes up his/her mind to surrender the connection in future, will come down to ₹1500.

What is the 30-day free trial in Jio Fiber ?

Jio Fiber with their free trial move has gained a lot of limelight in the broadband space. They have used the strategy of “Pehle Istemaal Karo fir vishvaas Karo”. This free trial offers you a lot. They provide you with a free installation for the Wi-Fi as well as the set-top box. They obviously cater you with their best plan so that they can attract their customers through this trial scheme.

The OTT apps which you get in this free trial include Amazon Prime Video, Disney + Hotstar, Sony LIV, Zee5, Voot Select, Lionsgate Play, Sun NXT, ho!cho!, discovery+, JioCinema, ShemarooMe, AltBalaji, eros now & Voot Kids. We know that most of these subscriptions are pretty useless for probably any normal person, but obviously, these companies use the quantity of the subscriptions they offer as a marketing gimmick, and it is not new. What about normal DTH channels??

You do not get a set-top box in plans below ₹999 and therefore won’t be getting any type of OTP subscriptions as well as JioTV+. JioTV+ lets you watch normal television channels which you are used to via the internet and is only available with plans starting ₹999 and above. But still, you will be able to watch free-to-air channels in ₹399 and ₹699 plans.

OTT Always??

If you were under a misconception that you can get a full year’s subscription to OTT platforms by just subscribing to Jio Fiber for one month, then we have a piece of sad news for you. Your OTT subscriptions will ONLY last until your recharge lasts. An additional shock for everyone is that you can only stream Amazon Prime Video and Netflix on your Jio Fiber. This means you won’t be able to access those platforms on any other device :-(( *sad life*
