Facebook Messenger Scam

In this basically, Scamsters generates a clone account of a user. And sends all the friend requests again. And then he will start messaging the friends of the actual user normally. He chats as a normal person. And after some time he says that he needs some money. He provides some details he’s accepting money on. And he says he will return all the money by tomorrow. And this is the point where innocent people share money. To get safe from these frauds we should not accept any of the friend requests. Especially, with whom we are already friends. And we should ask the actual person on a call if needs money.

This type of scam is too common on OLX. If you’re selling something on OLX, and the deal is almost final to person. That person asks you for your phonepe no. to send you the money. First, he deposits ₹5 to ₹10. Ensuring and make you feel about this is a genuine deal. Once he transfers a small amount to check and if you confirm that he sent on right no. Then he shares the “payment accepting” QR with the seller. Seller thinks scanning this QR will make him receive money from the buyer. But this credits the money to Scamster’s Account. So please ensure at the time of accepting payment, the payer needs QR, not the Reciever.
