American, modern automaker Tesla is ready to enter the Indian market. They have been taking major steps in this aspect by appointing a 6 member top tier officials team. Prashanth Menon had previously been appointed as the Director of Tesla, India. Tesla took some more major steps a few days back, which we have listed below-

3 series launching?
Tesla plans to bring their budget 3 series to India by July- August for testing on the Indian roads. They are certainly working on the backend to make Tesla PDT ready for sales in India. If everything goes planned, then Tesla can launch their model 3 by the end of 2021.
Tesla India Showrooms
According to sources, Tesla will initially assess the response to their electric cars by the Indians in the metro cities. Tesla also plans to set up showrooms in the major metro cities like Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai. Following that, they will also be looking for a “franchise model ” for after-sales in India. Tesla does not have any franchise model in foreign countries.
Tesla’s Team
Tesla had been appointing Indians to their team. The company made the most recent appointment on the 1st of June. Tesla has a 6 members leadership team headed by Prashant Menon. They will also be appointing “secret and confidential” roles to the company.
Tesla expects to expand its team gradually over the next months. The senior leadership will operate out of Mumbai.
Tesla India Plans
Tesla is planning to achieve customer satisfaction in India. They want to gain trust amongst the people in India. Tesla will be going slow over its plans and will expect long term growth. They also want to maintain a global standard in the Indian tesla cars.
On January 12th, Yediyurappa tweeted and announced that Tesla would begin its operation in India with an R&D centre in Bangalore. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also said that he had invited Tesla to manufacture electric vehicles in India. He also assured that “Indian products are also improving and within two years, we will get e-vehicles of Tesla standard in the Indian market.”
Tesla has started working in full swing to enter India very soon. It is expected that we will be able to see Tesla cars on roads by the next year.
