Motorola has announced that it is enabling 5G support on ten of its phones in India, but only for Jio’s “True 5G” network. Motorola 5G phone users in India will soon have access to Jio’s advanced 5G stand-alone network, which boasts a diverse range of spectrum bands and cutting-edge technologies like 3CA and 4X4 MIMO to ensure seamless connectivity. This independent network is set to offer the best possible 5G experience, separate from the LTE network. Get ready to experience lightning-fast speeds and flawless connectivity with Motorola and Jio’s powerful 5G network.

The phones that will receive the update include are:-

  • Motorola Edge
  • Edge+
  • Moto G 5G
  • Moto G 5G Plus
  • Moto G9 Power
  • Moto G9
  • Moto G9 Plus
  • Moto G8
  • Moto G8 Power
  • Moto G8 Plus

According to Motorola, the update will be rolled out in phases, starting with the Moto G 5G and Moto G 5G Plus. It is not clear when the other phones will receive the update.

Jio’s “True 5G” network is currently in the trial phase and is not expected widely available until later in the year. It is India’s first 5G network when it is launched. Motorola’s decision to enable 5G support on its phones clearly indicates that the company is preparing for the launch of Jio’s 5G network. It is unclear whether Motorola’s 5G-enabled phones will be compatible with other 5G networks in India once they become available.
