Android to Offer Convenient Switching Between Spotify Connect Speakers from Lock Screen

Android users will soon be able to switch between Spotify Connect speakers directly from the lock screen, thanks to a new feature being rolled out by the popular streaming service.

The feature will allow users to seamlessly transition their music between different speakers without unlocking their phone or opening the Spotify app. This is particularly useful for those with multiple Spotify Connect speakers around the house or for those who frequently switch between their phone’s built-in speaker and other external speakers.

To use the feature, users need to have their phone connected to a Spotify Connect speaker and then swipe down on the lock screen to access the music controls. From there, they can select the “Change Device” option and choose from a list of available Spotify Connect speakers to switch to.
