A host on Fox Business has criticized supporters of the cryptocurrency XRP, calling them “conspiracy theorists.” The host commented during a segment discussing the recent legal troubles faced by Ripple, the company behind XRP.
Ripple is currently facing a lawsuit from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for allegedly selling XRP as an unregistered security. However, the company and its supporters have denied the allegations and claim that XRP is a legitimate cryptocurrency.
However, the Fox Business host dismissed these claims and accused XRP supporters of being “in denial” and promoting “fringe theories.” The host’s comments have been met with backlash from the crypto community, with many pointing out that the host lacks understanding of the technology and the legal issues surrounding it.
