Microsoft to Stop Selling Windows 10 on January 31st, 2023 What it Means for Users

According to a recent announcement by Microsoft, the company will stop selling Windows 10 on January 31st, 2023. Unfortunately, this means that consumers will no longer be able to purchase a license for the operating system after this date. However, there are still ways for users to obtain the software.

Those who currently own a valid Windows 10 license will continue to receive security updates and support from Microsoft. Furthermore, Windows 10 will continue to be available for download through the Microsoft Store for Business and Education and Volume Licensing. Additionally, some PC manufacturers may still pre-install Windows 10 on new devices.

The move to stop selling Windows 10 is likely because the operating system has reached the end of its lifecycle. Microsoft typically stops selling and supporting an operating system after 10 years. Windows 10 was first released in July 2015, and the company has already started to focus on its next-generation operating system, Windows 11.

While the end of Windows 10 sales may surprise some, it’s important to note that the operating system will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future. This means that users will still be able to use and receive updates for the software, even after January 31st, 2023.
